Rainy weather doesn't have to stop your stay – in Western Norway it can be part of the experience. For those who want to get out, rain can provide raw and wild nature experiences in the mountains, and fishing can often be extra good in grey weather. We offer unique suites, spacious deluxe cabins, the Lodge and several types of standard cabins. We also have camping for campers, caravans and tents.
The suites are the most distinctive and exclusive accommodations. The deluxe cabins offer more space and greater comfort, while the standard cabins are practical and a good choice for those who want to live simply and comfortably.
The river suites and The Barn Suites is particularly suitable for couples who want a unique stay with a distinctive character. The Junior Suite can also be a good choice for couples who want to live comfortably. For those who want more affordable accommodation, the standard cabins are an alternative.
Family Barn Suite , The Lodge and several of the deluxe and standard cabins are well suited for families. The junior suite can also be a good choice for families with 1–2 children, especially for those who want a stay a little out of the ordinary. What suits you best depends on how many of you are there, how much space you want, and what type of stay you are looking for.
Several of our units are located on or close to the Jølstra River. The river suites and all cabins marked with Riverside -cabins are good choices for those who want a location near the river. The junior suite is also located by the river and is a good choice if you want the comfort and space of the deluxe cabins but with a more unique look.
The River Suites are among our most unique accommodations, close to the Jølstra River and with a very special feeling of living in the middle of nature. With the close contact with the river, the view and the distinctive design, they have become one of the most sought-after accommodations on Jølstraholmen – and for many an important reason to make the trip here.
Both river suites are located very close to the Jølstra River, with large windows and a very special feeling of being in the middle of nature. The main difference is the bathtub: River Suite 1 has a wood-fired outdoor bathtub outside, in addition to a regular bathroom with shower and overhead shower. River Suite 2 has a sunken bathtub inside the bathroom, in addition to a regular shower and overhead shower.
The Barn Suites is located in the old barn on Jølstraholmen. The barn was moved to Jølstraholmen around 1900, but we do not know for sure how long it stood elsewhere before that.
The suites are spread over two floors, with large windows looking out onto nature and the mountains. Here we have preserved the original gate construction, the timber and much of the soul of the barn – including rusty roof tiles from the old external roof, which are now used as an internal ceiling. It gives a stay with history, character and a feeling you don't find in ordinary hotel rooms.
The lodge is a 19th century log house that has been completely renovated and developed into a spacious and distinctive accommodation unit. Here, old timber meets modern solutions and unique interior architecture.
This is our largest unit, with three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, plenty of living space and its own sauna. The lodge is well suited for families, groups of friends and small groups who want plenty of space, comfort and a stay a little out of the ordinary.
Dogs are welcome in many of our cabins, but not in the suites and the Lodge. The dog should not be in beds or furniture, and the owner is responsible for any additional cleaning. There is a supplement for dogs that depends on the size of the cabin. The same rules also apply to other pets. Please contact us if you are unsure.

Yes, all of our cabins have private bathrooms. All cabins, the Lodge and the Junior Suite have kitchen facilities.
The other suites do not have a full kitchen, but are equipped with a coffee machine, refrigerator and teapot. This is well suited for shorter stays where meals can be combined with breakfast, packages or a visit to Restaurant Kraftverket.
Most of our bungalows have a TV, but the Elvasuites do not. Where there is a TV, we have digital linear TV, and several of the newest units have Smart TV. Please contact us in advance if this is important to you.
Our suites feature organic bathroom products from Raw Skincare, as well as bathrobes and slippers. In the other cabins, hand soap is included.
Feel free to bring your own toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and other personal products you wish to use during your stay.

Jølstraholmen is a Nature Hotel in Vassenden in Jølster, with cabins, suites, camping, Restaurant Kraftverket, sauna and activities close to the Jølstra River.
The name comes from Holmen , a small island/island surrounded by the river Jølstra. This is where it all started, when the camping business began with tent rentals as a side business alongside the farm.
Today, Jølstraholmen is still family-owned (3rd generation) and constantly developing – from a traditional campsite to a place where accommodation, food, nature and experiences are closely linked in a Nature Hotel concept.
Jølstraholmen has its roots as a campsite, but has developed into a Nature Hotel with unique suites, cabins, a restaurant and experiences. Camping is still part of the offer.
For us, a Nature Hotel means your stay is deeply connected to the nature around us. We don't have one big hotel building with lots of identical rooms; instead, we have several different cabins, suites, and accommodations spread out across the landscape.
The river, mountains, food, sauna, and activities are all part of the experience. Here, your stay isn't just about where you sleep, but about the whole place you're immersing yourself in.
